blending; pronoun
gender neutral subjective pronoun. Se is an option for people who are neither male nor female but prefer a less dehumanizing pronoun than it.
 
Se ate a ham sandwich.
Etymology : Blend of she and he. She is probably from Old English seo, sio, the feminine of the demonstrative pronoun se 'the'. He is from PIE base *ki- 'this, here' which was the source of Old English third person pronouns. (Etymonline)
