Peacocking

verb; derivation
The act of primping before going out in order to attract a mate. This behavior is witnessed by both men and women. It results in wearing bright and flashy clothing or accessories in order to draw attention to oneself. This is thought to be a way to stand out in crowded bars, clubs, or restaurants and, eventually, attract a member of the opposite sex.
 
. “I’m about to start peacocking for the club tonight. I’m gonna wear a shirt with tons of sequins, all eyes will be on me!”
Etymology : Derivation. Peacock from Middle English pecok + suffix –ing to form a verb.
