A term of endearment for men, especially in guy-guy friendships. It is used as a greeting or simply as a nickname. It is also used frequently as a joke, especially when used to address girls. A type of people known as “bros” uses it, boys who like to drink and party and wear backward baseball caps.
Etymology : Blending. Bro, a clipping from brother, Old English bropor + Joseph, from Hebrew, yasap.
