Cakeing

verb; derivation
Excessive flirting. Cakeing is especially seen in public and has replaced the phrase “public display of affection”. It is known as cakeing because it can be seen as excessively sweet, almost to the point of being disgusting. Couples who are cakeing tend to make the people around them uncomfortable with how excessive their flirting is.
 
"That couple making out in the library was cakeing so bad!"
Etymology : Cake (noun) from Middle English kaka + suffix -ing
