- This term comes from the feeling one endures when a pebble is stuck in their shoe. The term may be extended and used to describe unfortunate situations, such as when one earns a low grade on an exam, or to describe the way one is feeling. For example when asked “How is your day going?” one may respond “Eh, pebbly,” indicating that their day is not going well. This term is the third in a series of three terms which describe varying degrees of how “good” something is.
