highballin'

adjective; compounding
preferential or special treatment, especially for famous or wealthy person. I have heard this word on TV, most likely on VH1 or MTV, when some rapper was describing the result of his recent success. It was evident that he was describing the perks of being famous. Thus, I came to the conclusion that this was an adjective used to express getting VIP service. It is slang that has come out of the ghetto areas and is almost exclusively only heard in conversations among African-Americans. I believe that it has some origin in other slang words such as ballin’ (‘living life affluently’) or balla (‘rich person’). Thus, the word has come into the language to extend the description of a ballin’ lifestyle.

I am highballin’ tonight. I’m flying first class to New York while drinking champagne, so I can go to a concert where I have backstage passes.
Etymology : high ‘extremely’ + ballin’ ‘living in riches’
